A living Hell in Australian bush fires.

I watched the news this morning with increasing horror as footage was beamed to us from Australia. The tears started to drip down my face as I saw images of devestation... burned out cars and houses, whole towns destroyed, people burned alive in their vehicles as they tried to out drive the bushfires that are raging across Australia, out of control.

One man I saw had been trying to fight the fires with neighbours and when he came back he discovered 2 of his children had been killed. People leaped into pools and ponds in a desperate attempt to survive fires that were travelling faster than trains, whipped by the winds. One woman climbed into a wombat hole with her children as the fire swept above them. Miraculously they lived.

I cannot imagine the fear that these people must be going through. The fires still rage and people are still dying. For me here in little old, snow covered England it is incomprehensible. My heart goes out to you if you are there or if you have friends or family out there. It must be a living hell.

It's just awful. It's unimaginable. I can't even say.

I cannot imagine. I know my heart goes out to them along with my prayers. To think this could be arson!

Gail and Emily, Its awful isn't it ? I feel for those poor people.

Armageddon... what can I say? You must have very sore fingers having done all that typing.I appreciate that you took the time to let me know the way of things to come, in your opinion, and I wish you well.S

My brothers both live out that way - fortunately they are safe and well. Annie x

Lucky you, getting an Armageddon novel for a comment. Meanwhile chose to send my month's surplus to the animal survivors instead.

Hi Annie. Must have been a huge worry for you until you knew they were safe. I'm glad they are. S

Hi Grrl+dog. I guess the animals must suffer hugely too... and how terrifying for them. I hadn't thought until now.

It must be a living hell for both animals and humans.
I hope they will find a way to stop this hell soon.
And to say that someone actually put those fires on... It's just unbelievable, pure horror.

Margot, its hideous to think that people could set fires deliberately, isn't it? Awful.
