A week since I posted ? Where have I been ??!!

Yup. Its been a whole week since I sat down to write on here. Life is so busy - what with Half Term break, running and writing my other blogs. My Man is beginning to wonder what has happened to his little woman!

I write on my Marathon Training blog after each run, and also on my blog on the Flora Marathon site. Obviously, by the time I've done that, and checked out what all my virtual friends are up to the time just flies by! There have been a couple of times when I've been about to write on here and I've thought " Oooops! My Man is going to be a bit pissed off if I don't show my face pretty soon!! " He is very patient - what with the running, the writing, the surfing ( internet, you know, not in the sea !!) My house is a complete tip and the children haven't eaten for days.

The good news is that FIL made it home safe. This time he only took 4 hours to get home from Devon. He really could not understand what all the fuss was about. I don't know.....

Today I went and did Christmas shopping. Now I only have 4 left to buy. Excellent. I am quite pleased with the stuff I have bought for people - I hope they like it. I am trying to persuade my Man to cut down this year. Last year he just went berserk with gift buying. In a way it was lovely that he wanted to give so much to friends and family, but I just thought it was too much. I felt uncomfortable with all the " buying ". Its not what Christmas is about. I am not a Christian, but I think that all the commercialism is just horrible. Its just not how it should be. Surely it should be about loving each other, caring for those less fortunate, giving something to the world that does not come shrink wrapped and covered in glitter - more about giving something of ourselves ?

Ok. Before I go on I have been up here for 40 minutes and I have to go and show my face to the family. See you later !

I love the way you describe what Christmas should really be about, it is oh so true!
I know what's it's like to have so much to do, I've had very little time left for the blog too...

You make me want to go and shop for Christmas, I had not thought about it yet but I think buying the presents early is the best way to do it. I'll do it that way too this year! Good idea.
'Til soon
