Oh bliss!!

I know I go on a bit about the whole allotment thing. Some of you probably find it a bit dull... but I cannot tell you how happy it makes me. I was down there yesterday evening, just watering and weeding and as I made my way around the beds I felt just wonderful. There is something lovely about being alone in the sunshine with only the birds, the breeze and the insects for company.

I cannot believe how much the plot has changed since we got it. I spend ages googling and reading about crop rotation, how to earth up potatoes, how to use companion planting. The satisfaction in learning about plants, the satisfaction gained by making sure my beds are weed free and watered well is just worth its weight in gold.

Changing the subject completely.... I had my hair done today. Its now short and startlingly blonde!! Oh my goodness!!!

I have stayed quite blonde for the last couple of years...I find it more youthful than it being dark...

I enjoy hearing about the allotment.

Your stories about your allotment inspire me to get working on my container garden on my patio..there is something about the sunshine and fresh air and feeling of accomplishment that is priceless...plus the vegetables are so good..and so healthy! I do enjoy your posts Sarah! Are you excited for the Royal wedding? I saw on the news today that people over here seem to be more into it than people in England..I'll be watching! Peace. :)

Your hair looks great - nice and breezy for the warm Summer ahead. Lots of long days and cool evenings pottering around on your lovely little piece of England.

I LOVED the pics and descriptions below of the raised beds. You are teaching me so much! So talk all you want!

I also LOVE your blonde hair. Since I'm a redhead, I don't mess with color at the salon, but I've always kind of wished I could play around with it like other people do. It's always fun to see the art that people wear that is their hair, you know?

It dawned on me the other day that I can't watch the wedding in your country because we don't have a television that is connected to any stations. (Ours is an old one just for watching dvds) I'm hoping to catch a few videos or pics online. I remember being a little girl and getting to get out of bed to watch Princess Diana. I think there is something in every woman that longs to be a princess. That's just my American viewpoint. So what is yours? Will you be watching or reading about it, or is it more of a bother?

Bless you! Have a wonderful rest of the week!

I agree with you entirely. I'd love an allotment (to grow mainly cut flowers) but have a fair size garden in which to keep control of. Too much boundary of shrubs and hedges for my liking, and too many 1970's slabs to keep pulling up! x

PS. Hairdo looks great!
