Back to normal life ... ho hum.

I have been back at work today for the first time in ages. It was lovely to see everyone, but I have decided that I really was born to be a lady of leisure. This is not to say that I would sit around doing nothing all day - far from it. I would just like to do what I want when I want, but then wouldn't we all??

I just love being able to potter round my house and garden, round my allotment. I would love to be able to do my painting and drawing, but pesky work calls each day. Still, in the current climate I suppose I should be grateful to have a job.

I don't quite know how I've done it, but my hip is dead painful today. Its one of those pains where if you try to get out of the car its hard to lift my leg. Of course this could be down the enormous weight of my leg, but I prefer to think its because of carrying my watering can.

I cooked a delicious piri piri chicken for dinner tonight. Well... when I say delicious I mean delicious to me. My boys picked their way through it in the way only children can. I had chopped squeezed and blended herbs, lemon zest and juice to within an inch of oblivion. The chicken was covered in a zingy marinade and still they pondered it in the same way you and I might ponder road kill.

So... life is back to normal - work, aches, pains, children and, I'm afraid, a four thousand word essay on the integration of the individual into society. Oh joy! Give me a sunny day, a spade and the birds singing on my allotment any time...

I offer my deepest condolences.....I refuse to feed people who only pick at my delectable offerings. I say chikdren should be forced to eat the nourishing stuff in front of them regardless.....(good thing I have no children).

Just want to reassure you that your heavenly dream is possible upon retirement. I am soooo lucky to be able to do mostly only what I want to do.

Good luck with your kids and your allotment.

I'm sure our children fear we are poisoning them rather than expanding thier palate! Although they turn thier noses up at Piri Piri I bet they eat smokey bacon crisps (mine do)! which imo are disgusting!

Good luck with the essay, I know you are struggling with the OU lately. email me if you need any help.

First, the chicken looks delish! Second, 4,000 word essay??? Ugh! I'm an Italian woman. I'm quite certain I speak at least 4,000 words before breakfast every morning but to write it?! ;) Best of luck to you on that.. I hope you find more time for your allotment.. :)
