Football and blogging injuries.....

Please forgive me. I haven't been around for a couple of days. The reasons for this are as follows:

  • Football at Wembley in a dead posh corporate box.

  • Blogging injury.

To take the first reason first. My Man works for a company who have corporate boxes at various places - one of them being the new Wembley Stadium. Soooooo......... this Saturday My Man managed to get tickets for the 4 of us to go to watch the England Under 16's play football or soccer if you are from the US of A.

This is the Stadium in the distance as we drove there. The boys were going for the football - me I was going for the VIP Parking and the free meal. We drove right up to the VIP entrance and strolled in like film stars. I, of course, wore my sun glasses at all times and held my tummy in, in the hope that I might be thought both slim and strikingly elegant.

To be honest I don't think I fooled anyone, but I felt important in my own little world. We were escorted to our box and for the next 3 hours we ate and drank for England. Bruschetta with mozzarella and Balsamic Vinegar, Prawn Korma with Pilau Rice, Strawberries and cream, cheese and biscuits. Wine, beer, tea, coffee, water, fruit juice.

Oh, and there was football on. Did I mention that ? Awfully exciting - lots of running and shouting , sweat and muscles. And to top it all we won !! England that is. Hurrah!! Hurrah!! This is not something that happens every day to us Brits. We are usually very good at losing, but not this Saturday. The Spanish fell before us as they did all those years ago when they sent out their Armada. Mmmmm. Well, a bit like that anyway.

So - on to the second reason I've not been about. I am injured. Sad to say, this injury reflects the huge amount of time I spend fiddling about on this machine. I think I have developed Repetetive Strain Injury from using my mouse too much. Typical - just as I take up tennis and the piano - my elbow gives up on me. Unkind friends have been heard to mention that it could have resulted from too much lifting of heavy wine glasses. I, personally, refute this dastardly slur.

Don't worry. I am made of stern stuff. I am English. I will fight my way through this. Despite the terrible pain, I will not give up. I will clench my teeth, gird my loins and do things left-handed if I have to..........Aaaaaaggghhhhh.

Oh, I hope the blogging injury is short lived!! I'd hate to think we've caused you pain!

I may become a soccer fan if it involves Bruchetta, strawberries, and booze!

Sounds like the food, I mean soccer, was amazing. Very lucky indeed.

Now as for that injury, rumor has it you can drink wine left handed. It even tastes the same! Personally, I am ambidextrous when it comes to wine, so I am speaking from experience.

I'm so jealous. I think it would be really cool to go to a soccer game...or football. Good times!
