One pink sparkly day... please ??

I have just had a lovely day. With my Man and boys, we went to the cinema to see City of Ember, which was great. Then we had Mac Donalds ( yuk ) for lunch. Then we went and played football on the field. Then we came back and watched the DVD of Casino Royale. Now this is all lovely, and I am a lucky girl, but it does remind me of something my mum did when we were all little...

It reached a certain stage in our lives when both my brothers and my dad were playing lots of sport, watching lots of sport. My mum announced one day that she was going shopping to buy a " sport free" tv. She told the man in the shop that that was what she wanted. He looked at her a little strangely, but she came back with a portable tv for the bedroom. The rule was that that tv was hers and it would never be witness to sport or " man type " progammes. Ever.

I think that I may be at that stage. Its not that I don't enjoy being with m'boys, but I do miss a little bit of glitter in my life. A little bit of pink and sparkle... I wonder sometimes what it would be like to have a little girl. We could experiment with make up. Go shopping for pretty things. Try on clothes. We would smell divine together... not of old trainers. Ahhhhhhh......

Its not something I think of often, but I do sometimes. A little , sweet, imaginary girl with whom I could watch Romantic Comedies, have lunch, giggle about boys.... Ah well...
