I was at Waitrose today, walking back to my car when I saw this lady - at least this is my quick version of her. She was in her 70's and one of the most glamorous women I have ever seen. She walked like a model, was dressed immaculately with beautiful suit and matching lipstick, bag and shoes.
I said " Excuse me... " and told her that she looked absolutely gorgeous, like a model, just beautiful. I think she was a little taken aback, but I had to tell her... and I'm glad I did.

How cool of you to have stopped to tell her, not many people would have done that and I am sure she is sitting at home with her friends and family at this minute telling them about the amazing stranger she met today :0)
I am sure you made her day! How kind of you to tell her.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one! If I see someone who is particularly striking, male or female, I always tell them, and they too are often taken aback and/or think I'm a lesbian but like you, I too do not care.
I agree with Eternally Distracted and Gail, this woman probably was telling her friends about the amazing woman she met today and I'm certain it made her day! Good for you! This world needs more of the kindness of strangers!!
Thanks ! I know it would make my day if someone said something nice to me. Life is too short not to do stuff like this. Once a few years ago I saw a woman I thought was beautiful ( again, an older lady )and I didn't say anything. I always regretted that and decided to just do it from now on. I am glad you are all of like minds!! S
