I'm back... I'm happy and I'm studying like a crazy girl...

Eureka!!! I think... and I hope.... that I am back on track. I have set up a wireless network so that I can access my blogs, my Facebook,my world.I cannot tell you how frustrating it has been over the last 2 weeks to have either no or very little internet.I have realised that I am, in fact, a bit of a geek.I was going in to withdrawal not being able to get online!!!

So, here I am again.I cannot tell you how excited I am to see that I now have 54 followers!! Wow!! How cool is that?? I never thought that anyone would ever find my little blog, but you have and I love it!!

So... what's been happening? I finally received my course materials for my Open University course. As I opened the package I could feel my heart beating faster and my breath growing shorter. What on earth have I let myself in for?? I have 7 assignments to complete and exams in June. My first assignment is to write a 1000 word essay on the interpretation of a passage from Pride and Prejudice.OH GOOD GRIEF!!!

I know that I could write 1000 words on my interpretation of Colin Firth striding out of the lake in a see through shirt.I could wax lyrical over the gorgeous dresses and lovely homes.... but Gordon Bennett ( quaint English phrase replacing more serious swear words ) I am currently ploughing through a text book on the Realist Novel. All this between periods of extreme concentration brought on by the new series of Strictly Come Dancing and X Factor.

Part of me is thrilled by the awakening of part of my brain which has lain dormant for 23 years. Part of me is shaking in my boots at the expectations of the course.Still... with the Open University I know that I am not alone. All over the country there are students of a certain age, girding their loins at the prospect of having to cobble together an essay once again. The general concensus seems to be that the last time any of us wrote anything even mildly academic we were using fountain pens at best and at worst chipping away in blocks of granite.

I will keep you posted ( please pardon the pun) on my progress. Probably ad nauseam....

Gordon Bennett. Sounds like a great idea to use to help me stop swearing. =)

Ah, Colin Firth, he is what dreams are made of. I think he's dreamy. Now I could go back to college if it was to major in Colin Firth. =)
