Secret Housewife and her Open University Degree.

If you have been reading my blog for any amount of time ... firstly, thank you!!! Secondly, you will probably know that I have been studying with the Open University for the last 3 years. There is a page that links to every post I have ever written about my study on my tabs up above, from deciding whether or not to do it, through worry and self doubt, through to delight and thorough enjoyment.

Today is a day that I have thought of for a long time - the day that I write my blog and tell you my result ...

I am absolutely thrilled to be able to tell you that I have achieved my B.A (Hons) First Class. I was really hoping for a 2:1 so to get a First is something I can't quite believe!!!

I want to thank each and every one of you who have encouraged me, advised me and been with me on my journey. When I eventually attend my graduation ceremony at Ely Cathedral I will be a blubbering, beaming woman whose heart will burst with pride at achieving something I thought I had failed in my youth. Your support, along with that of my family, is what has kept me going when I doubted myself. Thank you so much.

Yay! Congratulations. Good Job. Now you deserve a rest and celebration.

Just noticed on your side bar that your name is Sarah Pellew! My mother is a Pellew-Harvey from the UK. Maybe we have common relatives?

So amazing! Sarah, you rock! You not only worked diligently every step of the way, but you also encountered some pretty big hurdles outside of your studies that you somehow got through all the while keeping up with your course work. It's one thing to be a student who only has classwork to think about; it's another thing to be a wife, a mom, an employee, a gardener, and all the other roles you fulfill on top of being a student. What a great accomplishment! Way to go!!!!!

Congratulations - a well deserved First! Enjoy your graduation, take loads of pics - & post them on here! Studying, while working & running a home (& starting an allotment) is such an achievement.
You should be very proud of yourself :)

Hi Sarah,
I've not posted a comment on your board before but felt I just had to say many many congratulations! I think it must be harder to get a degree with running a home, job and family and you got a first as well! Wow!
I have only managed an allotment this year.....

How did I miss this post? Huge congratulations, I never doubted you would make it but first class honours, that is huge! No wonder tutors love mature age students!

I remember when you were thinking about doing the course, I remember when your first set of books arrived, your fear when you thought you couldn't write and that you were going to humiliate yourself, your jubilation when your essays kicked arse... and now you're done.

Didn't it go quickly. Well done Sarah - you're an inspiration.
