On a brighter note...

Ok. This is the wrong way round now as you will read this first and the bit about my FIL next. But perhaps if you read that one first you could come back to this ?

Are you back ? Right, well this may seem a little shallow, but I think we agreed several months ago now that I am quite shallow. Anyway, today I got my dishwasher plumbed in and working. This may not seem much to you, but I have never had a dishwasher before. I bought one on August 22nd and it has been sitting in my kitchen since then in various stages of plumbedin-ness. Mostly unplumbed.

Yesterday the man came, plumbed it and today I used it. It works beautifully. I danced around my lounge with joy. There. I told you I was shallow. But I am a shallow person with very clean dishes.

Lol.
If you are a shallow person with clean dishes, I am a shallow person with clean laudry!
I understand exactly how you feel since I've installed (I managed to do it on my own, great, isn't it?) a washing machine two weeks ago. It was a friend's and she got a new one and was sweet enough to give me the old ;-)
I watched it turn for the whole first washing and everytime my man passed by I was screaming : "See, it's washing. Wonderful isn't it??" with a broad smile... And he replying very patiently : "It's a washing machine, love, that's what it's supposed to do".
Anyway, I felt like the queen on Earth, sitting beside my cat, both watching my washing machine wash.
So I won't call you shallow for a joy-dance about a dishwasher ;-)

I'd rather be shallow with clean dishes than knee deep in dirty ones! Fantastic! Have fun with all your newly found free time!

Congratulations on the clean dishes! The word shallow is not really a good way to describe it, I prefer efficient!
