Update on madness...

Ok. Just an update. I calmed down and I went back to my boys and everything is sorted out. They have gone to sleep knowing their mummy loves them. They were calm and fine. I was calm.Being a mummy is the hardest thing I have ever done. It is relentless and there are no instructions. I can't get it right all of the time. I can just try.

You are a wonderful is tough, and you're right...there are no is sink or swim - at least it feels that way most of the time.

Remember that you're not alone, and simply loving them is enough...a good friend once told me "If my children hate me through their teen years, I'm doing my job right. If they hate me when they're 30, I did it wrong."

That means to me that as their parent, as their Mum, we deal with the crap all the time...they think we do things because we don't want them to have fun, have friends, have things...but as they grow and mature, they realize that it's because we want them to thrive, have safety, and because oftentimes, giving them what they need means that they are miserable...if, when your boys are grown, they come back to you and say "Mum, you were awesome, and we get it!" that's what you want...

Parenting, not friendship, is the name of the game, and you're doing a bang-up job!
